Celtic beat Rangers 1-0 in yet another tempestuous Old Firm encounter

Celtic 1 – Rangers 0 (Scottish Cup, March 2, 2011) The FA Cup Old Firm derby was full of incident in a goalless first half, with El Hadji Diouf hugely involved. Diouf began the game on the receiving end of a late, unpunished foul from Daniel Majstorovic, however things turned much nastier later in the half as Diouf got into a heated verbal exchange with Bhoys boss Neil Lennon on the touchline. Theat forced the referee to give a stern warning to both Ally McCoist and Lennon as the match threatened to spill out of control. Georgios Samaras had the chance of the right at the death when he missed from point-blank range. The bad blood continued even after the whistle was blown as the players argued as they exited down the tunnel. Three minutes after the break Celtic took the lead, Marc Wilson scored at the second attempt after an incredible initial clearance on the line from Papac. Just after the hour mark Goergios Samaras smacked the post. Deep in injury-time Madjid Bougherra was sent-off for a second booking and preceded to try and stick the second yellow back in the pocket of referee Calum Murray. And after the final whistle there was still time for Ally McCoist & Neil Lennon to square off.
