Ronaldo hits a double for Corinthians; Neymar continues to score for Santos

Austria 2 – Italy 2 (U21 International friendly, March 25, 2009) The Austrians were cruising at the break, Sand and Baumgartlinger giving the hosts a 2-goal lead. But the Italians rallied in the second half to draw level through Ranocchia and Paloschi.


Corinthians 2 – Ponte Preta 2 (Campeonato Paulista, March 25, 2009) Ponte Preta went ahead when they sprang the hosts offside trap and Leandrinho chipped the ball over Felipe. Corinthians equalised four minutes later when Ronaldo won and converted a penalty, his third goal for the club. Ronaldo then notched his brace after the break, the chunky Brazilian collected a cross with his left foot, slipped inside his marker and placed the ball in the far corner. Ponte Preta equalised in the 75th minute when Corinthians failed to cut out a cross and Gum headed in.

Guaratingueta 5 – Ituano 0 (Campeonato Paulista, March 25, 2009) Ituano’s non-existent defence were at fault for conceding five poor goals.

Paulista 2 – Botafogo 3 (Campeonato Paulista, March 25, 2009) The opener for Adriano, a sweet volley inside the box, was the pick of the goals.

Santos 3 – Santo Andre 0 (Campeonato Paulista, March 25, 2009) Santos ran out comfortable winner thanks to goals from Madson (a 20-yarder), Triguinho and superstar-of-tomorrow, Neymar.


Aurora 1 – Gremio 2 (Copa Libertadores, March 25, 2009) Jonas opened the scoring for Gremio after 41 minutes before Aurora equalised in the 54th minute after a counter-attack finished off by Derlis Paredes. The winner came three minutes from time, the home keeper made a hash of saving a Tcheco free-kick to hand the visitors a late win.
