Liedson signs off at Sporting with a brace as Lisbon draw 3-3 with Naval

Sporting Lisbon 3 – Associacao Naval 3 (Liga Sagres, February 4, 2011) Brazilian-born Liedson, on his final match for Sporting, gave the hosts the lead after 33 minutes after Postiga’s shot had been parried by Naval goalkeeper Salin. But Naval hit back through Fabio Junior, who converted a penalty on 43 minutes before Michel Simplicio’s close-range finish put Naval ahead on the stroke of halftime. Helder Postiga converted a penalty for Sporting on the hour mark to level proceedings, but Nicolas Godemeche restored Naval’s advantage seven minutes later. With the crowd starting to direct their anger at coach Paulo Sergio, only a goal from Liedson could alter the ugly mood, and as usual, Levezinho was right on cue as he struck a late equaliser.
