Henry saves the Red Bulls; Columbus, Kansas, RSL & Chivas net home wins

New York Red Bulls 2 – FC Dallas 2 (MLS, July 23, 2011) New York had led through a 39th-minute goal from Juan Agudelo, but a second-half double from Marvin Chavez left them needing Thierry Henry’s late intervention to earn a draw.

Columbus Crew 1 – Portland Timbers 0 (MLS, July 23, 2011) An own goal from Mamadou Danso settled the match.

Sporting Kansas City 4 – Toronto FC 2 (MLS, July 23, 2011) Kei Kamara scored his first goal with a terrific scissors kick in the 28th minute and made it 2-0 in the 34th on a header off a cross from Roger Espinoza. Three minutes after that Omar Bravo collected a pass from Brazilian midfielder Jeferson, dribbled past keeper Stefan Frei and scored into the open net. Bravo’s second goal, in the 64th minute, made it 4-1. Danny Koevermans and Ryan Johnson scored second half goals for Toronto.

Colorado Rapids 2 – New England Revolution 2 (MLS, July 23, 2011) Benny Feilhaber scored in the 25th minute for the Revolution, but Caleb Folan equalised in the 65th minute and Kosuke Kimura scored a freak 70-yard goal in the 82nd minute to give the Revs the advantage. Shalrie Joseph levelled the match for the Rapids with a last-gasp penalty.

Real Salt Lake 4 – San Jose Earthquakes 0 (MLS, July 23, 2011) Alvaro Saborio broke the scoreless draw on a penalty kick in 60th minute, and then made it 2-0 in the 75th. Kyle Beckerman got his second goal of the season in the 79th and Jamison Olave closed the scoring in the 83rd with his second.
