Mallorca and Osasuna beaten by second-tier sides in the Spanish cup

Hercules 2 – Osasuna 1 (Copa del Rey last 16 first-leg, January 7, 2010) Hercules overcame Osasuna at the Jose Rico Perez and they took an early lead as Cristian struck. Osasuna levelled just after the break with Jorge Galan pouncing, but Hercules secured the win as Joseba Del Olmo pounced.

Rayo Vallecano 2 – Mallorca 1 (Copa del Rey last 16 first-leg, January 7, 2010) Vallecano clinched a very good opening leg success over high-flying Real Mallorca. The Madrid-based side took the lead as Sanchez Michel scored, but Mallorca were level Julio Alvarez equalised. But Rayo were able to take the advantage into the second-leg as Juan Collantes headed home.
