Gerrard’s debut in Major League Soccer started with a bang, as the former Liverpool captain scored in his first professional game in America.
Gerrard’s scored in a thrilling 5-2 win for the LA Galaxy against the San Jose Earthquakes.
San Jose took the lead through an early Quincy Amarikwa double, before Robbie Kane brought the hosts in to the match in the 30th minute.
In the 37th minute, Steven Gerrard got on the scoresheet with a curler into the far post.
Yet it was Gerrard’s old Liverpool teammate, Keane, who proved the match-winner, as the LA forward scored in the 64th and 80 minutes to complete a hat-trick.
Sebastian Lletget’s injury time goal wrapped up the win for the Galaxy.
