Ligue 1 goals: Toulouse & Lille win comfortably

Toulouse 2 – Sochaux 0 (Ligue 1, December 10, 2009) Slack Sochaux defending allowed Andre Pierre Gignac to delicately chip Toulouse into the lead at home to Sochaux three minutes after the break. Gignac clinically added the second two minutes later following a horrible back pass.

Lille 4 – Saint Etienne 0 (Ligue 1, December 10, 2009) Lille took the lead at home to St Etienne in the 33rd minute, Pierre-Alain Frau finished off the move. (First-half highlights here.) Yohan Cabaye claimed the second from the penalty spot and Gervinho, who had a hand in the first two goals scored the third. Adil Rami completed the rout with a splendid fourth, the central defender slamming home a free-kick that was Ronaldo/Balotelli-esque.


Portimonense 1 – Feirense 0 (Liga Vitalis, December 10, 2009) Pedro Meita scored the winner straight from a corner in the 80th minute, the away side had two players sent off.


River Plate 2 – Racing Club 0 (Argentinean Apertura, December 10, 2009) First half goals from Diego Buonanotte (penalty) and Matias Abelairas (fine free-kick) gave River the victory.

Arsenal Sarandi 2 – Atletico Tucuman 0 (Argentinean Apertura, December 10, 2009)


Monterrey 4 – Cruz Azul 3 (Mexican Apertura championship final first leg, December 10, 2009) The home side came back from 3-1 down to take a first leg lead. An og from Emanuel Villa gave Monterrey the lead but Christian Riveros bagged two goals and Villa made up for his og with a goal at the right end to give Cruz Azul a half-time lead. Humberto Suazo got Monterrey’s second and fourth with Sergio Santana also scoring in a frenzied second period.
