Serie A goals: Zlatan saves Inter’s bacon against Cagliari; Genoa put three past Torino

Inter Milan 1 – Cagliari 1 (Serie A, January 10, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Julio Cruz missed a sitter from a Figo free-kick in the first half with Cagliari. And Jose Mourinho watched his side pay for their missed opportunities when they conceded, Walter Samuel lost Robert Acquafresca who slotted in the opener. But Zlatan Ibrahimovic came to the Nerazzurri’s aid with the equaliser to salvage a point for Inter.

Genoa 3 – Torino 0 (Serie A, January 10, 2009) Giuseppe Biava was given the freedom of the Torino area to head Genoa in the lead after 18 minutes. Genoa doubled their lead at the start of the second half as Bosko Jankovic was left all alone in the box to head home. Thiago Motta made it a hat-trick of headers from a corner to wrap up the win.

Vicenza 1 – Parma 1 (Serie B, January 10, 2009) Reginaldo’s right-foot finish put the Gialloblu in front, but Parma’s fightback was immediate, although Sgrigna seemed to be in an offside position when he scored.

Bari 1 – Salernitana 0 (Serie B, January 10, 2009) Bari went second beating Salernitana, Barreto curling in a sublime free-kick for the winner.

Triestina 2 – Empoli 0 (Serie B, January 10, 2009) Antonelli’s left-foot drive gave Triestina the advantage, with Granoche adding the second.

Mantova 0 – Piacenza 0 (Serie B, January 10, 2009) Cristante saw red for the hosts while Aspas was dismissed for Piacenza.
