Rock-bottom Reggina get put to the sword at Samp; Hit-and-miss Lazio blow cold against Udinese

Sampdoria 5 – Reggina 0 (Serie A, May 9, 2009) Rock-bottom Reggina got off to the worst possible start at Sampdoria, a crashing low driving from Daniele Dessena gave the hosts the lead after just one minute. On the half hour it was two, Daniele Dessena rifling home an even better drive to leave Reggina on the ropes. Gennaro Delvecchio completed a miserable half for Reggina heading home a third from a set-play. Samp killed the game with two quick fire goals after the break, Guido Marilungo and Giampaolo Pazzini (terrific strike) both getting their names on the scoresheet.

Lazio 1 – Udinese 3 (Serie A, May 9, 2009) Tommaso Rochi had fired the home side in front with a long-range effort which flew into the top corner in the 56th minute. Antonio Floro Flores made an immediate impact as he scored within seconds of being introduced to restore parity on the hour mark. Gaetano D’Agostino made it 2-1 with a free-kick in the 69th minute before Fabio Quagliarella converted from the penalty spot in the closing stages, with Christian Brocchi seeing red soon after.
