Crotone 1 – Ascoli 2 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Crotone opened after 26 minutes when Russotto broke through on the counter and finished with a curling finish into the top corner. Ancona 2 – Mantova 2 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Mantova were relegated in the thriller, and it all started badly when keeper Bellodi was terribly unlucky just nine minutes in, Mastronunzio shot hit the bar and ricocheted into the net off the back of the goalie’s head. Pellicori struck twice to turn it around with his diving header and by redirecting a wayward Tarana effort. 120 seconds later Mastronunzio went on a solo run through the Mantova defence to equalise and ultimately relegate the visitors.

Empoli 2 – Grosseto 2 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Tosto opened the scoring for Empoli by nodding in Vannucchi’s cross. Frosinone 2 – Triestina 2 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Troianiello broke through after 11 minutes for Frosinone with a right-foot strike from the tightest of angles, soon wiped out by Testini’s chest and volley. Modena 3 – Gallipoli 2 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Della Penna pounced on a defensive error and Artistico lobbed the goalkeeper to give the visitors a shock lead, but within 60 seconds Bruno had sparked the comeback from close range. Giampà equalised with a diving header on Pinardi’s cross before Spezzani completed the turnaround thanks to an angled drive.

Padova 2 – Brescia 1 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Brescia got off to the worst possible start as within three minutes Di Nardo’s header had put the home team in front and a second header from Cuffa header doubled the lead. Caracciolo ‘s penalty proved mere consolation for the Serie A hopefuls. The match ended dramatically when, in stoppages, one of the sprinklers went off in the centre-circle and the referee had to give seven minutes of extra time, during which Rabito and Caracciolo skimmed the woodwork.

Reggina 3 – Albinoleffe 1 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Pagano was the star of the show for Reggina, as his left-foot strike and an angled drive surrounded Missiroli’s tap-in. Albinoleffe did put the effort in, as Torri’s header came off the crossbar and just before the break he did get the ball into the net with his daisy-cutter.

Salernitana 0 – Vicenza 1 (Serie B, May 30, 2010) Gavazzi’s 8th minute header sealed the match.
