Juventus 4 – Genoa 1 (Serie A, November 13, 2008) Juventus moved into second place in Serie A, level on points with Inter having played a game more. Zoltan Grygera got the opener and Amauri headed home the second. Vincenzo Iaquinta added the third before Diego Milito pulled one back from the penalty spot. Udinese 0 – Reggina 0 (Pens. 8-7) (Coppa Italia, November 12, 2008) In a hard fought battle, Udinese had Belardi (86) and Quagliarella (118) both sent off, while Reggina’s Hallfredsson missed an 88th minute penalty before the hosts won on spot-kicks.
Sampdoria 2 – Empoli 1 (Coppa Italia, November 12, 2008) Samp moved ahead thanks to a Bonazzoli tap-in, and the lead was doubled with a Fornaroli penalty. Lodi struck a left-footer into the bottom corner to give the visitors hope of a come back, which sadly never materialised.
Napoli 3 – Salernitana 1 (Coppa Italia, November 12, 2008)Â Napoli were gifted the lead on 16 minutes when Maurizio Peccarisi put through his own net and Inacio Pia added a second nine minutes later. Arturo Di Napoli gave Salernitana hope with a goal five minutes after the break, but Marek Hamsik’s penalty three minutes later ended any chances of a comeback from the visitors.
