Inter record their sixth straight win at Lazio; Roma shoot down the Flying Donkeys

Lazio 0 – Inter Milan 3 (Serie A, December 6, 2008) A powerful header from Inter’s Walter Samuel on the run put Mourinho’s boys ahead at Lazio. De Silvestri flashed a shot wide as the hosts looked to equalise, while Zlatan displayed amazing agility with an overhead-pass to play in Stankovic down the right hand side. Inter doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime when Diakite turned the ball into his own net from Maicon’s cross. In the second half Ibrahimovic added a third from Cambiasso’s free-kick.

Chievo 0 – Roma 1 (Serie A, December 6, 2008) Roma’s upsurge continued at bottom-side Chievo, the Flying Donkeys shot down by a brilliant volley from Jeremy Menez in the 69th minute.

Livorno 3 – Salernitana 0 (Serie B, December 6, 2008) Tavano’s tap-in, Candreva’s long-range effort and a trademark Diamanti free-kick gave Livorno the points.

Grosseto 1 – Cittadella 1 (Serie B, December 6, 2008) Cittadella, battling relegation, took the lead through Meggiorini’s left-foot strike. Sansovini snatched a precious point in the second half, showing strength to batter down the defence and convert Valeri’s assist.

Brescia 1 – Albinoleffe 0 (Serie B, December 6, 2008) Possanzini’s fourth goal of the campaign proved enough to win the local derby in Brescia’s third consecutive victory.

Parma 1 – Avellino 0 (Serie B, December 6, 2008) Parma continued their renaissance to move joint second along with Sassuolo, Grosseto and Brescia. Danish defender Troest became the unlikely hitman by nodding in a set play.
