German Denis’ hat-trick shoots down Roma; Chievo & Catania pick up wins; Siena hit 4; Lecce win away

Atalanta 4 – Roma 1 (Serie A, February 26, 2012) Guido Marilungo put Atalanta ahead in the 10th minute before Denis scored his first goal in the 19th. Roma gave itself hope when Fabio Borini pulled one back shortly afterwards. However, Denis struck again two minutes after the interval and Pablo Osvaldo was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident. Denis grabbed his third in the 66th as the Argentine took his season tally to 15. Roma had another man sent off eight minutes from time when Marco Cassetti saw red for dissent.

Chievo 1 – Cesena 0 (Serie A, February 26, 2012) Davide Moscardelli made it a miserable start to life as Cesena coach for Mario Beretta as his goal earned Chievo a 1-0 win at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.

Siena 4 – Palermo 1 (Serie A, February 26, 2012) Palermo, who had Federico Balzaretti sent off early on, took an 11th minute lead through Igor Budan. That advantage was wiped out by half-time with a penalty from Claudio Terzi and a flick by Erjon Bogdani. Luca Rossettini’s goal and a free-kick from Franco Brienza set the score on 4-1.

Cagliari 1 – Lecce 2 (Serie A, February 26, 2012)

Catania 3 – Novara 1 (Serie A, February 26, 2012) The second for Catania, a brilliant volley from a corner by Giovanni Marchese, was some goal.
