Brighi scores twice as in-form Roma beat Palermo; Sampdoria beat Fiorentina to go fourth

Roma 4 – Palermo 1 (Serie A, February 13, 2010) The Romans kept up their brilliant form of late early doors against Palermo as a training ground corner saw Totti whip the ball into Matteo Brighi at the near post and the midfielder cracked home a brilliant volley to open. Comical defending from the Sicilians at the start of the second half gifted Julio Baptista Roma’s second, and the Giallorossi opened up a 3-goal cushion when Brighi bagged his second of the game on the hour. Fabrizio Miccoli pulled a goal back for Palermo before John Arne Riise kept up his excellent recent goalscoring form grabbing a fourth for second-placed Roma.

Sampdoria 2 – Fiorentina 0 (Serie A, February 13, 2010) The Viola were undone by strikes from former players Franco Semioli and Giampaolo Pazzini as Samp recorded their fourth straight victory as they moved up to fourth.
