Win for Brazil & Uruguay at the South American Championships

Brazil 2 – Bolivia 1 (U20 South American Championships, January 22, 2009) Brazil fell behind when Jehanmed Castedo fired home a rebound. But the Brazilians hit back in the 35th minute, Walter netting his second goal of teh tournament by finished off a well worked attacking move. Brazil’s eventual winner arrived in the 51st minute with a powerful finish from Tales De Souza.

Uruguay 3 – Chile 2 (U20 South American Championships, January 22, 2009) Tabare Viudez put the Uruguayans ahead in the very first minute, but Chile hit back almost immediately as Charles Aranguiz equalised four minutes later. A pulsating start then saw Chile take the lead when Boris Sagredo converted a penalty. Alejandro Pena levelled up matters just before the break (first half highlights here) and the Uruguayans stoke the points when Santiago Garcia made it 3-2 with 20 minutes to play.
