USA 2 – El Salvador 1 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) Castillo headed the away side ahead just after the half hour but the USA won the match with two goals towards the end of the first half. The first a header from Clint Dempsey after the Fulham man beat the offside trap, the second was another header into the same corner from Hull striker Jozy Altidore.

Costa Rica 0 – Mexico 3 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Tottenham attacker Giovani Dos Santos was man of the match as Mexico’s renaissance under Javier Aguirre continues. Dos Santos claimed the first with a cracking left-footed strike and then set up Guillermo Franco and Andres Guardardo for easy tap ins.

Honduras 4 – Trinidad & Tobago 1 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) Honduras continue to impress in World Cup qualifying and lead the final round of qualifying in the CONCACAF region. Carlos Pavon grabbed a double, Amado Guevara scored the third and David Suazo the fourth. Jerry Baptiste got T&T’s consolation.
