U19 European Championship: Petrov double pegs back England

England 2 – Ukraine 2 (European U19 Championship, July 24, 2009) Ukraine got off to a great start when, on two minutes, a good passing move saw Kyrylo Petrov slide a low finish to the right of Jason Steele. England got a deserved equaliser from the penalty spot when Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury drilled it into the bottom left after Danny Welbeck was brought down by keeper. England took the lead five minutes after the restart when United youngster Daniel Drinkwater took a clever, quick free-kick that Everton’s Dan Gosling rifled past Levchenko. But sloppy marking allowed Petrov to get his second of the night just after the hour mark.
