South Korea beat Japan 3-1

Japan 1 – South Korea 3 (East Asian Championship, February 13, 2010) Japan took an early lead when Korean Kang Min-soo fouled defender Tanaka in the penalty area and Yasuhito Endo converted the spot kick in the 24th minute. South Korea earned a penalty 10 minutes later and Lee Dong-gook beat goalkeeper Seigo Narazaki to equalise. Lee Seung-yeoul gave South Korea the lead with a 30-yard ripper that deflected off Nakazawa. Kim Jae-sung made it 3-1 when he curled in a right-foot shot from the edge of the box in the 70th minute. Japan defender Tulio was shown red for elbowing Cho Yong-hyung just before haltime while Korea captain Kim Jung-woo walked after a second bookable offence in the 52nd minute.
