International Friendlies: Senegal draw in Iran; Norway edge Finland in a 5-goal thriller; Serbia down Sweden

Iran 1 – Senegal 1 (International Friendly, April 1, 2009) Iran took the lead after 28 minutes when the Senegalease defence failed to close down Khalatbari on the left-hand side, his cross was only parried by keeper N’Diaya with Mehrzad Madanchi heading the rebound into the open net. Papiss Cisse’s clinical header just before the hour mark earn the Africans a draw.

Portugal B 2 – Romania B 0 (International Friendly, April 1, 2009) Malaga’s Eliseu opened the scoring with a header and Yannick Djalo sealed the win late on with a powerful run and shot.

Norway 3 – Finland 2 (International Friendly, April 1, 2009) Jonatan Johansson opened the scoring befoe John Arne Riise equalised early in the second-half. There was a large dose of late drama as first Jon Inge Hoiland put the Norwegians in front in the 90th minute only for Alexei Eremenko Jr. to equalise two minutes into injury time, only for Morten Gamst Pedersen to score the winner seconds later.

Serbia 2 – Sweden 0 (International Friendly, April 1, 2009) Man-mountain Nikola Zigic nodded home a long throw by Branislav Ivanovic for the Serbians inside the first minute. Bosko Jankovic steered in the second after he was set up by fellow substitute Marko Pantelic following a sweeping move.
