Syria 3 – China 2 (2011 Asian Cup qualifier, January 14, 2009) Syria took were 3-up at half time, Al Sayed bagged a cheeky penalty before striking a stunning 25-yard bullet, with Al Khateeb netting a second penalty minutes prior to the break. (First half goals here.) Qu Bo netted a consolation for China in the second half, with China bagging a second at the death.

Iran 6 – Singapore 0 (2011 Asian Cup qualifier, January 14, 2009) Singapore’s Ismail Yunis was sent off in the 40th minute, and two minutes later Majid Gholamnejad Iran’s opener. Karim Bagheri scored the second in the 51st from close range, while striker Gholam Reza Rezaei added another in the 54th and Maziar Zare scored the fourth goal in the 79th. Mohammad Nouri scored in the 82nd and 83rd minutes to complete the rout.

Hong Kong 2 – India 1 (International Friendly, January 14, 2009) Yiu Chung Au Yeung opened scoring for Hong Kong in the 70th minute before India captain Baichung Bhutia made it 1-1 10 minutes later. But it was the home team which had the last laugh with defender Ng Wai Chiu finding the target in the 94th minute to seal the victory.
