Bilic lifts Croatia past Austria; Belgium beat Bulgaria; Croatia draw with Slovakia U21s; Chile ease past Qatar in Toulon

Austria 0 – Croatia 1 (International Friendly, May 19, 2010) Substitute Mate Bilic scored the only goal of the game with four minutes remaining, beating Jurgen Macho following a fine ball inside from Drago Grabic.

Belgium 2 – Bulgaria 1 (International Friendly, May 19, 2010) The first half went against the hosts as Eden Hazard had a penalty saved while Ivelin Popov put the visitors in front just after the half hour. But Gent’s Christophe Lepoint scored from close range in the 89th to level the score, and Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany scrambled the ball over the goalline in injury time for the unexpected victory.


Croatia 1 – Slovakia 1 (U21 European Championship qualifier, May 19, 2010) Michal Duris slid Slovakia into the lead on the half hour. Two minutes later Ivan Rakitic equalised with a blistering strike into the far corner.


Chile 4 – Qatar 2 (U20 Toulon Tournament, May 19, 2010) Carlos Munoz and Juan Abarca put Chile in front by the 14th minute. Alhaydos brought Qatar back into the match with a cute free kick but three minutes after the break Chile regained the lead with a header from Sebastian Toro. Alhaydos brought Qatar back into the match again only for Marco Medel to complete the win with 11 minutes to go.
