Albania 3 – AC Milan 3 (Pens. 4-5) (Exhibition, May 12, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) The Rossoneri’s latest brand-building exercise took them to Albania, and the Milanese got off to the perfect start when Shevchenko and Pato combined to tee-up Ronaldinho for the opener. Milan doubled their lead early in the second half when Kaka threaded a ball through to Andriy Shevchenko who in turn put the ball between the keeper’s legs. But then the Albanians hit back in stunning fashion, scoring three quick-fire goals and turning the match on its head. There was no fairytale victory however, Kaka again proving the difference as he weaved his way through the home backline before Pippo Inzaghi rolled in the equaliser. Milan won the match 5-4 on penalties. Milan’s draw was made that much sweeter as Rino Gattuso managed to play 45 minutes in his comeback from a serious knee injury.
