Inter survive Palermo scare to stay top of Serie A

Inter Milan 5 – Palermo 3 (Serie A, October 29, 2009) Samuel Eto’o opened the scoring with a seventh minute penalty and strike partner Mario Balotelli then netted twice before Eto’o grabbed the fourth just before the break. Palermo stormed back in the second period through Fabrizio Miccoli’s superb double and an Abel Hernandez goal but Inter substitute Diego Milito sealed the win late on.


Bellinzona 1 – Young Boys Bern 7 (Swiss Super League, October 29, 2009) Ivorian striker Seydou Doumbia claimed a hat-trick for the Swiss league leaders who enhanced their position at the top of the table.
