Holland reach the Under-17 European Championship final; Hosts Germany overcome Italy to reach the final too

Pisa levelled on the half hour mark to a stunning Genevier screamer. Riccio pounced on poor defending to restore Piacenza’s advantage and soon after D’Anna saw red to leave Pisa with 10-men. Calderoni finished off the match by meeting Riccio’s assist.

Lech Poznan 1 – Lechia Gdansk 0 (Ekstraklasa, May 15, 2009) Robert Lewandowski’s 84th minute header from Semar Stilic’s cross earned Lech the three points.

Lanus 2 – Rosario Central 1 (Clausura, May 15, 2009) Defender Pablo Lima broke the deadlock for the visitors when he converted a free-kick after 18 minutes. But midfielder Sebastian Blanco put Lanus back on level terns early in the second half and Diego Lagos headed home Blanco’s cross in the 70th minute to give the home side the three points and top spot in the league.

Switzerland 1 – Holland 2 (Under-17 European Championships semi-final, May 15, 2009) The Dutch took a first-half 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Shabir Isoufi (assisted by Arsenal’s Oguzhan Ozyakup) and Luc Castaignos. Janick Kamber pulled one back but the Swiss couldn’t score another and Holland will play hosts Germany in the final.

Germany 2 – Italy 0 (Under-17 European Championships semi-final, May 15, 2009) Germany were put through their toughest match of the competition by the Italians, Reinhold Yabo and Bienvenue Basala-Mazana struck in the last ten minutes to earn Germany a place in the final.
