Video Assistant Referee
The German football association (DFB) and the Bundesliga have revealed their VAR system to be used in the upcoming season.
The new VAR will make its debut on Friday night when Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena.
The system is designs to minimize the number and length of interuptions throughout the 90 minutes.
There are only four specific match situations where the video referee will be called into action, namely: Goals, red cards, penalties and mistaken identities.
Further more, the on-field referees will still have the final call.
After a goal is scored, the video assistant will clarify whether or not there was a handball, offside or a foul in the build up.

Premier League to follow suit?
Many have called for the Premier League to adopt a similar system, although it does have its critics.
The two biggest criticisms of VAR are that it disrupts the flow of the game, and that mistakes made by referees are actually part of the game.
