Riot after Bastia’s sub keeper Leca waved a Corsican flag at Nice’s ultras, four people arrested [Videos]

What the hell is going on with political flags at football matches these days?!

Just days after Serbia’s Euro 2015 qualifier with Albania was abandoned in appalling scenes, the conclusion to a match in France has witnessed more violence caused by a flag.

Bastia picked up a 1-0 win away at Nice on Saturday night in Ligue 1, and following the full time whistle, Bastia’s sub keeper Jean Louis Leca waved a Corsican flag at Nice’s ultras.

That sparked a furious reaction from the fans, and a pitch invasion quickly broke out.

During the melee, a series of punches and assaults were recorded as violence scenes popped up all over the pitch, and French daily L’Equipe are reporting that four people were arrested in the chaos.
