Bordeaux and Vannes reach the French League Cup final

PSG 0 – Bordeaux 3 (Coupe De La Ligue, February 4, 2009) PSG took on Bordeaux in the glamour tie of the round, and it was the visitors who struck first when David Bellion benefited from a patient build up to head in the opener. Bordeaux’s second came from a quick counter-attack, Souleymane Diawara was sent through and the Senegalese forward expertly lobbed the keeper. Wendel wrapped up the win in the 90th minute.

Nice 1 – Vannes 1* (Pens. 3-4) (Coupe De La Ligue, February 4, 2009) After an hour without a goal, Vannes put together a move straight through the Nice defence and Khiter bagged the opener. With two minutes remaining Nice drew level thanks to Ben Saada. With no goals in extra time the match went to penalties and Vannes stunned the Ligue 1 side winning the shootout 4-3.
