French football has a bright future. The country are the current U20 World Cup holders, with Pogba, Varane and Zouma among that squad.
Now the latest crop of talent to emerge from the country have just won the U17 European Championships by beating Germany 4-1 in the final.
A hat-trick from Odsonne Edouard and an own goal from Gokhan Gul ensured that Erdinc Karakas’s goal was reduced to a mere consolation.
The tournament was undoubtedly littered with scouts and Edouard was a contender for player of the tournament, setting a new scoring record by bagging eight goals.
But any club hoping to pluck him the hands of a middling French team would have been disappointed to learn that he’s the next big thing at PSG.
