Wins for Heerenveen & De Graafschap in the Dutch Cup; Werder beat Lech in a five goal thriller

Feyenoord 0 – Heerenveen 3 (KNVB Beker, January 20, 2009) Heerenveen took the lead at Feyenoord when a ball over the top found Viktor Elm in acres of space and he took his time before slotting the ball calmly home. And Elm, playing only his second match after his move from Kalmar, bagged his second in the 73rd minute to put the tie out of reach. Roy Beerens added the gloss with a third late on.

Dordrecht 0 – De Graafschap 1 (KNVB Beker, January 20, 2009) De Graafschap sneaked past Dordrecht thanks to a Jason Oost penalty 19 minutes from time.

Lech Poznan 2 – Werder Bremen 3 (Friendly, January 20, 2009) Alexandros Tziolis marked his debut with Werder on loan from Panathinaikos with an early brace, before Lech’s highly-prized Semir Stilic brought the Poles back on level terms with a brace of his own. Werder had the last laugh, Claudio Pizarro hit the winner in the 73rd minute.
