Hapoel Tel Aviv 4 – Beitar Jerusalem 3 (Ligat Ha’Al, January 4, 2010) For the second successive league game against a Tel Aviv team, Beitar lost 4-3 as Hapoel moved closer to leaders Maccabi Haifa. Maharan Lala put the hosts ahead and Hapoel looked well in control when Dedi Ben Dayan doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Tomer Ben Yosef had been sent off. Barak Yitzhaki pulled a goal back only for Eran Zehavi and Itai Shechter to all but seal the match for Hapoel. Late goals from Avi Rikan and Aviram Bruchian with 15 minutes to go ensured a grandstand finish.
