NAC hand PSV 1st loss of the seaon; AZ hit four; Porto salvage a point; Braga held; PAOK cruise; Goals from Turkey, Ukraine, Poland & more

NAC 2 – PSV 1 (Eredivisie, March 6, 2010) Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at NAC Breda. Orlando Engelaar gave the visitors the lead after 18 minutes but Donny Gorter (35) equalised and Robbert Schilder grabbed a surprise winner 17 minutes from time. The defeat leaves PSV just one point ahead of FC Twente, who have a game in hand.

AZ Alkmaar 4 – Heerenveen 1 (Eredivisie, March 6, 2010) AZ Alkmaar bolstered their European bid by coming from behind to thrash Heerenveen 4-1. The visitors took the lead when Filip Djuricic smashed in a superb goal in the 20th minute. But AZ equalised within two minutes through Maarten Maartens before further strikes from Mounir El Hamdaoui, Jeremain Lens and Brett Holman swept the hosts to a comfortable win.

ADO Den Haag 1 – Vitesse 1 (Eredivisie, March 6, 2010) After Lasse Nilsson’s well-worked goal had given Vitesse the lead, Christian Kum headed in Pascal Bosschaart’s corner to ensure a share of the spoils.

Heracles 3 – Willem II 2 (Eredivisie, March 6, 2010) Heracles got off to the perfect start when Darl Douglas fired them ahead in the third minute, but Gerson Sheotahul levelled 20 minutes later. However, goals from Marko Vejinovic and Everton either side of the break put the hosts firmly in the driving seat before Sheotahul grabbed his second of the night in the 65th minute.


Porto 2 – Olhanense 2 (Liga Sagres, March 6, 2010) Porto suffered a major scare to their fantastic home record when Djalmir scored a diving header in the 12th minute and then Djalmir bagged a second three minutes later. Porto saved the game late on, Radamel Falcao pulled a goal back in the 80th and Freddy Guarin notched an injury time equaliser.

Vitoria Setubal 0 – Braga 0 (Liga Sagres, March 6, 2010) Braga went back to the top of the table with a point won at relegation battling Vitoria Setubal, but Domingos Paciencia’s team will be disappointed they missed the chance to put more pressure on Benfica, who will look to reclaim top spot at home to Pacos Ferreira.

PAOK 3 – Panthrakikos 0 (Greece Super League, March 6, 2010) PAOK kept their position at the top of the table win goals from Stelios Malezas, Olivier Sorlin and Lino.

Kavala 1 – Aris 1 (Greece Super League, March 6, 2010) An 8th minute strike from Toni Calvo fired Aris into an early lead, Serge Die levelling for the hosts 12 minutes from time. Diogo Rincon saw red in the 87th minute for Kavala.

Larissa 1 – AEK Athens 0 (Greece Super League, March 6, 2010) Fourth-placed AEK Athens stumbled to a 1-0 defeat at lowly Larissa, with Jan Blazek netting the only goal in the 55th minute.


Sivasspor 0 – Buyuksehir 1 (Super Lig, March 6, 2010) Tevfik Kose scored the goal as Buyuksehir BSK won 1-0 at Sivasspor despite the last-minute sending-off of substitute Oguz Sabankay, who had been on the pitch only 15 minutes.

Trabzonspor 3 – Genclerbirligi 1 (Super Lig, March 6, 2010) Sandro had given the visitors the lead but Burak Yilmaz quickly made it 1-1. It appeared that was how it would stay, but substitute Drago Gabric struck a minute from time and there was still time for Umut Bulut to bag a third.

Kasimpasa 2 – Kayserispor 2 (Super Lig, March 6, 2010) Abduallah Durak grabbed a last-minute equaliser as fourth-placed Kayserispor came from 2-0 down to earn a point at Kasimpasa. Yekta Kurtulus gave Kasimpasa a first-minute lead and Merthan Acil doubled the advantage a minute after half-time, but Ariza Makukula pulled one back before Durak’s late intervention.


Illitchivets Mariupol 1 – Dynamo Kiev 1 (Ukrainian Premier League, March 6, 2010) Despite going down to 10-men when Artem Savin saw red in the 64th minute, Illitchivets took the lead when Ihor Tyshchenko slid home a cross in the 77th minute. Kiev salvaged a point when Roman Zozulya scrapped home an equaliser seven minutes later.


Austria Vienna 0 – LASK Linz 1 (T-Mobile Bundesliga, March 6, 2010)


Slask Wroclaw 1 – Jagiellonia 2 (Ekstraklasa, March 6, 2010) Jagiellonia caught Slask out from two set-plays in each half, Jaroslaw Lato thumped home a free-kick while Remigiusz Jezierski converted from a second half corner. Piotr Celeban scored a consolation for the hosts.
