Standard Liege 1 – Zulte-Waregem 1 (Jupiler League, July 30, 2010) Standard’s season got of to a disappointing start as Khaleem Hyland curled the visitors ahead in the first half. Liege salvaged a point when Manchester United and Liverpool target Steven Defour equalised in the final minutes of the match.
Arsenal Kyiv 1 – Shakhtar Donetsk 3 (Ukrainian Premier League, July 30, 2010) A stunning 35-yard ripper from Sergey Simonenko blasted Arsenal ahead on the half hour. Shakhtar pulled level minutes before the break when a quick free-kick was finished by 19-year-old starlet Douglas Costa, and in first half injury time Douglas Costa bagged his second of the game with a powerful arching set-play that nestled in the far top corner. Shakhtar completed the turnaround within two minutes of the restart as Adriano Luiz scored in the six yard box from a low right wing cross.
Spartak Nalchik 2 – Amkar 1 (Russian Premier League, July 30, 2010) Roman Kontsedalov and Leandro had the hosts 2-up inside 12 minutes of the contest. Amkar failed to recover, but 15 minutes from time they did score one of the most mental goals of the season as Zahari Sirakov managed to steer the ball into the net with a bizarre shot from the touchline that found its way into the far top corner.
Saturn 1 – Anji Makhachkala 0 (Russian Premier League, July 30, 2010) A close range finish from Aleksandr Sapeta midway through the second half sealed the points for Saturn.
Ferencvaros 2 – Paks 1 (Borsodi Liga, July 30, 2010) Laszlo Bartha’s early header put Paks in front after seven minutes, but Ferencvaros turned the match around before the interval courtesy of Marek Heinz’s strike and a Janos Szabo own goal.
Otelul Galati 2 – Pandurii 0 (Liga I, July 30, 2010) A well-executed scissors-kick from Marius Pena and a Cristian Sarghi header late on earned Otelul the points.
Vaslui 1 – Targu Mures 1 (Liga I, July 30, 2010) Roman Dan turned home a 20th minute free-kick to put Targu ahead, Gladstone netting a 90th minute leveller for Vaslui.
