Ried 1 – LASK Linz 0 (T-Mobile Bundesliga, 31 July, 2010) Seasoned-pro, 35-year-old defender Ewald Brenner, proved the unlikely match-winner with just his eighth Ried goal since 2004 converting an 88th minute free-kick.

Dinamo Bucharest 5 – Sportul Studentesc 3 (Liga I, August 1, 2010) Sportul rallied from 3-nil down to push Dinamo all the way, but strikes from Liviu Ganea (69) and Adrian Cristea (89) handed the hosts the points.

Gaz Metan 2 – FC Timisoara 2 (Liga I, August 1, 2010) Eric Pereira had the hosts cruising with a brace either side of the break, but Timisoara rallied with goals from Lukas Magera (a thumper) and Mircea Axente to level.

FC Brasov 3 – Universitatea Cluj 1 (Liga I, August 1, 2010) Goals from Robert Ilyes, Cristian Ionescu and Alexandru Chipciu lead Brasov to victory.

CSKA Sofia 0 – Levski Sofia 1 (Vyscha Liga, August 1, 2010) Dembele’s first half strike won the Sofia derby for Levski.
