WHC 1 – Ajax 14 (KNVB Beker, December 23, 2009) Martin Jol’s side hit an incredible 14 goals against the amateur side. Goal machine Luis SuarezÂ top scored withÂ six and Marko Pantellic, Ismael Aissati and Kennedy Bakircioglu all chipped in with two goals each. A Bosch og and a Demy De Zuew goal rounded off the scoring for the Amsterdammers. Stel had pulled one back on the stroke of half time for WHCÂ to make it 6-1 at the break.
Groningen 0 – NEC 2 (KNVB Beker, December 23, 2009) Struggling NEC were afforded some welcome relief with a 2-0 win at FC Groningen. NEC are currently second bottom of the Eredivisie but goals by John Goosens, midway through the second half, and Erton Fejzullahu, in the final minute, saw them through.
FC Twente 3 – Helmond Sport 0 (KNVB Beker, December 23, 2009) Luuk de Jong opened the scoring in the first half and added his second in added time after Bryan Ruiz had doubled the lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Jong de Graafschap 0 – NAC 2 (KNVB Beker, December 23, 2009) NAC Breda beat lower league opposition Jong De Graafschap but needed extra-time to do it. NAC are eighth in the Eredivisie but they had to wait until the second period of extra-time for their first goal when Matthew Amoah scored with 13 minutes remaining. Tim Gilissen then made certain of victory with a goal after 120 minutes.
Feyenoord 1 – AZ Alkmaar 0 (KNVB Beker, December 22, 2009) Georginio Wijnaldum proved the match winner, slamming home after the keeper had parried four minutes before the break.
