Belenenses stay rock-bottom in Portugal; Bursaspor edge Fener in 5-goal thriller; Hapoel beat Maccabi in the Tel Aviv derby

Belenenses 1 – Academica 2 (Liga Sagres, February 22, 2010) Arsene Patrick Vouho and Markus Berger gave Academica an early lead, Jean-Paul Yontcha pulled one back just before the hour.


Fenerbahce 2 – Bursaspor 3 (Super Lig, Feberuary 22, 2010) Alex Da Souza hammered the home side into a fifth minute lead which was doubled by Andre Santos with a sharp backheel from close range on 22. Five minutes later Bursaspor’s comeback began with Pablo Batalla heading home. Five minutes from time Ozan Ipek equalised through a deflected free kick and Ozan Ipek finished off a break away for the winner in the 90th minute.


Maccabi Tel Aviv 2 – Hapoel Tel Aviv 4 (Ligat Ha’Al, February 22, 2010) Hapoel raced into a 3-goal lead in the Tel Aviv derby thanks to goals from Lala, Itay Shechter and Douglas da Silva. Yuval Avidor pulled one back but the comeback was thwarted when Maor Buzaglo missed a penalty before the break. Itay Shechter tapped in Hapoel’s fourth and Buzaglo did get on the scoresheet four minutes from time with a goal which did not cross the line.
