Airtricity League XI 1 – Manchester United 7 (Pre-season friendly, August 4, 2010) (Longer highlights) The Airtricity League XI were shown up after 12 minutes of their friendly with Manchester United as it looked like park football when a terrible error in defence gifted Park ji-Sung the luckiest goal of his career. Just over ten minutes later it was 2-nil when a sweeping United attack eventually saw the ball fall to Little Mickey in the box and, after a lucky break, Owen flicked a sweet lob over the keeper. Within two minutes of the restart United made it three when a Valencia cross was rifled into the top corner by new-boy Javier Hernandez. The floodgates began to open on the hour when Antonio Valencia slipped in number four. Park Ji-Sung curled home number five in the 63rd and then local boy Jonny Evans got in on the goalfest with a 69th minute header. The hosts netted a consolation through Mulcahy’s neat finish but Luis Nani scored the last goal for United from the penalty spot after Chicharito had been brought down in the box.
