VIDEO: Kevin Nolan scores a cracker as Newcastle return to the Promised Land; Leeds win at Yeovil thanks to Naylor’s brace

Newcastle 2 – Sheffield United 1 (Championship, April 5, 2010) Richard Cresswell threatened to spoil the party atmosphere at St James Park, but a Peter Lovenkrands penalty saw the home side equalise and Kevin Nolan scored a cracking acrobatic winner on a fantastic night for the newly promoted Toon.

Chris Hughton’s post match interview can be seen here.

Nottingham Forest 0 – Cardiff 0 (Championship, April 5, 2010) Besides the fact that Forest’s draw sent Newcastle to the Premier League, this game also saw a strange fight between Cardiff team mates David Marshall, the goalkeeper, and Anthony Gerrard (cousin of Stevie G). They did though kiss and make up at full time.

Watford 1 – WBA 1 (Championship, April 5, 2010) A cracking long range strike from Danny Graham put the Hornets in front, Chris Brunt headed the equaliser five minutes into injury time to boost the Baggies promotion hopes and weaken Watford’s fight against the drop.

Blackpool 2 – Doncaster 0 (Championship, April 5, 2010) Ian Holloway’s side stayed in touch with the play-off picture thatnks to goals from DJ Campbell and Stephen Dobie with a fine curling effort.

Yeovil Town 1 – Leeds 2 (League One, April 5, 2010) Richard Naylor was Leeds’ unlikely hero to arrest a recent poor run of form. Naylor scored the opener with a looping header on 29 minutes and five minutes later headed his second goal of the season. Dean Bowditch pulled one back for the home side midway through the second half.
