VIDEO: DJ Campbell’s hat-trick at Forest leads Blackpool to the brink of the Premier League

Nottingham Forest 3 – Blackpool 4 (Agg. 4-6) (Championship play-off semi-final second-leg, May 11, 2010) Forest, who were 2-1 behind after the first leg, levelled the aggregate score after only seven minutes against Blackpool when Majewski’s pass was poorly dealt with by Baptiste on the edge of his area and Rob Earnshaw capitalised with a low shot past Gilks. Eleven minutes into the second half the Tangerines got their noses back in front of the tie when David Vaughan played in DJ Campbell on the right-hand side of the area and the striker lifted the ball over keeper Camp. Back came Forest 10 minutes later when a cross into Dexter Blackstock rolled into the path of Rob Earnshaw and the Welshman thumped in his second of the match. But then Blackpool turned on the magic to book their Wembley spot. Stephen Dobbie made it 4-3 on aggregate with a deflected shot, DJ Campbell curled in a beauty into the top corner for 5-3 and then DJ Campbell pounced on a rebound to claim his first ever hat-trick to complete an amazing comeback for Ian Holloway’s men. Dele Adebola’s late consolation for Forest ended the match.
