The Canaries shoot down the Hornets; Howard puts Leicester within touching distance of the Championship

Derby 2 – Wolves 3 (Championship, April 13, 2009) Andy Keogh cracked in a fine first-time shot to give Wolves the lead, only for Przemyslaw Kazmierczak to draw the Rams level a superb 25-yard free-kick. Mile Sterjovski then completed Derby’s turnaround, Matthew Jarvis levelling from close range after great work by Kyel Reid for the visitors. Andy Keogh’s diving header from a Harewood cross secured the points and put Wolves six-points clear at the top of the Championship.

Norwich 2 – Watford 0 (Championship, April 13, 2009) The Canaries took the lead early doors when Watford youngster Danny Rose lobbed his keeper with a bizarre long-range own goal after trying to make a tackle outside the box. A late header from skipper Gary “the Doc” Doherty sealed the victory which took Norwich out of the relegation zone on goal difference with three games remaining.


Leicester 1 – Leeds 0 (League One, April 13, 2009) A last-minute header from Steve Howard handed the Foxes a hard-fought win over Leeds to put Nigel Pearson’s men within touching distance of an immediate return to the Championship.
