What a game at White Hart Lane!
The incredible aspect of Tottenham’s 4-3 win over Wycombe is that there were so many chances, the scored could easily have been double what it ended up as.
Even before Wycombe went 2-0 up, the League Two side spurned some massive chances and in a poor first half for the Premier League side, Tottenham also missed some excellent opportunities.
Paul Hayes gave Wycombe a 2-0 lead at the break. The first was a terrific volley from a poorly cleared corner. And, the second was from the penalty spot.
The Spurs fightback
Tottenham’s fightback only came on the hour, with Heung Min Son pulling one back and Vincent Janssen scoring from the penalty spot.
But, Wycombe took advantage of Spurs being down to 10 men due to Kieran Trippier’s injury and on 83 minutes looked to have won the match.
Garry Thomspon headed home a left wing cross to send the Wycombe faithful into dream land.
Then came Spurs again, through Dele Alli on 89 and Son on 97 to win an incredible match and send White Hart Lane wild.
