Manchester City 4 – Leicester 2 (FA Cup 3rd round replay, January 18, 2011) (Longer highlights, ITV highlights) Carlos Tevez almost pierced a hole in the Leicester goal as the Citizens struck on the quarter hour, the Argentine collected a throw-in from the right, spun his marker and saw off a weak Hobbs challenge before thumping a stunner in the far top corner. But just three minutes later the Foxes won a penalty when Dyer was tripped by Vieira, and Paul Gallagher buried his shot past Hart. Man City retook the lead in the 34th minute when a Silva shot fell into the path of Patrick Vieira who stabbed the ball over the line, and then minutes later a delicious slide pass from Silva released Adam Johnson and the Englishman scored a quick-fire third. Early in the second half Carlos Tevez was hacked down by Hobbs in the Foxes box, but the Argentine’s dead-straight penalty was saved by keeper Weale. With seven minutes from time Leicester revived the match when a long ball was latched onto from Lloyd Dyer and the diddy man slipped his shot past Hart. City looked ragged after conceded, but those nerves were dispelled by Aleksandar Kolarov who buried a 22-yard shot for his first goal in England.
