West Ham’s second game at the London Stadium
After seeing off Domzale in the Europa League on Thursday evening, to reach the play-offs of Europe’s secondary competition, West Ham played the “official” opening game at their new stadium.
Close to 54,000 people were in attendance as Juventus won 3-2 having initially lead 2-0 after just 21 minutes.
Juventus got out the blocks in some style. Paul Dybala bagged the opener from a Mario Mandzukic assist.
And, the same pair combined for 2-0 with Mandzukic scoring after Dybala’s set up.
Andy Carroll bags a brace
Either side of half-time, Andy Carroll brought West Ham back into the match with goals on 34 and 54.
The game was then evenly poised for the majority of the second half…
Until substitute Simone Zaza won the encounter from a Barzagli assist.
