Bolton shoot down Liverpool in the reserve league; Chelsea reserves hit four past an MLS select XI

Bolton reserves 2 – Liverpool reserves 1 (Premier Reserve League, December 11, 2008) Gary Ablett’s side took the lead thanks to Krisztian Nemeth’s first goal since returning from injury. But after the break the Reds fell to pieces, particularly after Daniel Ayala was sent off. Bolton responded, Ebi Smolarek equalised from Riga Mustapha’s cross, and minutes later the Polish striker once more finding the net after good work by Temitope Obadeyi on the left. This was Liverpool’s sixth defeat in nine games in the reserve league.


Chelsea reserves 4 – MLS XI 0 (Friendly, December 10, 2008) The MLS select squad were easily beate by a strong Chelsea reserve side, Morten Nielsen gave the Blues the lead before Scott Sinclair romped home with a hat-trick.
