But Chelsea didn’t score, Manchester United got more and more into the game, and in the 28thÂ minuteÂ Wayne Rooney took the ball off Nani, headed goalwards and drilled a low rocket past Cech into the near post. Chelsea did have chances thereafter but a fantastic stop from Edwin Van der Sar denied the hosts in melee from a free-kick. (First half highlights) In the 54th minute David Luiz (superb match) got on the end of Ivanovic’s knockdown before Evra and he volleyed a stunner past Van der Sar and into bottom corner. A minute after David Luiz got away with a possible red card for a trip on Rooney, ref Atkinson awarded Chelsea a 77th minuteÂ penalty for aÂ debatableÂ foul from Smalling on Zhirkov, and Frank Lampard stepped up and smashed in the spot-kick. Yuri Zhirkov almost added a third when he hit the post. United got ragged in the final stages, evidenced when Nemanja Vidic collect a second yellow for bundling over Ramires in the 92nd minute.
