Catalonia 4 – Argentina 2 (Friendly, December 22, 2009) Sergio Garcia headed Catalonia in front before the break and Bojan Krkic doubled the lead for Johajn Cryuff’s side early in the second half. Feyenoord 1 – AZ Alkmaar 0 (KNVB Beker, December 22, 2009) Georginio Wijnaldum proved the match winner, slamming home after the keeper had parried four minutes before the break.
Manisaspor 2 – Besiktas 1 (Turkish Cup, December 22, 2009) Canadian Josh Simpson put the hosts in front, before Bobo levelled matters for Besiktas. The winner for Manisaspor came in a comedy fashion as a spew of errors in the visitors defence saw the Besiktas goalie accidentally whack a clearance at a defender’s head which eventually fell into Ergin Keles’ path the slot in the winner.
