Mistakes like this might explain why Morelia are bottom of the Liga MX table.
Their goalkeeper Jorge Villalpando made a terrible error in the first half of the recent match in Guadalajara. After receiving a pass from midfielder Christian Valdez, Villalpando struggled to get the ball out from his feet under pressure from Chivas striker Carlos Fierro.
He could only scuff a clearance, knocking it away from his kicking foot with his standing foot, and watch Fierro tap it into goal to level the scores at 1-1. A colleague can be seen consoling Villalpando after the mistake, evidence of a good spirit within the unit.
Further evidence could be seen in the way Morelia managed to get over that blow and go on to win the game 3-2.
