Chile rout Russia in Toulon; Valencia starlet Paco hits trips for Spain

Chile 5 – Russia 0 (U20 Toulon Tournament, May 21, 2010) Russia had Viktor Vasin sent off after just four minutes, and after Carlos Munoz opened the scoring after 37 minutes Chile stormed to victory. Luis Pavez made it two a minute after the interval, Marco Medel tucked home number three, Gerson Martinez’s 15-yarder made it four and Ubilla Sebastian’s 30-yard ripper sealed the victory.


Spain 4 – Switzerland 0 (U17 European Championships, May 21, 2010) Spanish captain Paco, Valencia’s 16-year-old forward, stole the headlines with a brilliant hat-trick which included a strike from distance, a flick header and a superb solo effort in which he beat three defenders before netting. Jorge Orti rounded off the win with number four.


Congo 0 – Saudi Arabia 2 (International Friendly, May 21, 2010) Ahmed Al-Furaidy put the Saudis ahead nine minutes before the break with a tidy flick from a dead-ball into the mixer. Striker Sultan Al-Numari sealed the win in the 76th minute with a direct free-kick.
