After a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Paris, PSG were once again disappointing with Laurent Blanc’s 3-5-2 starting formation particularly poor.
Manchester City should have taken the lead through Sergio Aguero, but the Argentine missed a first-half penalty.
In the end, it was left to Kevin De Bruyne to send Manuel Pellegrini’s side through, firing past Trapp with 13 minutes remaining.
