Antonio Valencia has been a terrific right-back for Manchester United since being converted by Louis van Gaal last season. As well as being able to defend, he’s a magnificent threat going forward.
The Ecuadorian ace picked up his sixth assist of the season in the first half of their match against Bournemouth when he drilled in a cross-cum-shot for Marcos Rojo. It was the Argentinian defender’s first Premier League goal of the season.

Unfortunately for United, that goal was not enough for them to beat the Cherries. Phil Jones gave away a penalty towards the end of a crazy first half that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyrone Mings battle in a brutal way.
They remain in sixth place, where they’ve been for months. A win would have taken them into the top four ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool. The games will come thick and fast for United now and this feels like an opportunity missed.
