Scotland striker Che Adams scored a hat-trick as Steve Clarke’s side bounced back from defeat to Iceland to win in Liechtenstein.

The former Southampton forward – now playing for Torino in Italy – had scored just once in his last 19 caps before the trip to Vaduz.

But he lashed in powerfully after just four minutes to settle any nerves after the home side failed to clear a corner.

Adams doubled the lead when he rolled in from 15 yards after good work from 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller.

Adams’ header across goal at the start of the second half was touched in by Ipswich striker George Hirst for his first international goal.

And Adams completed his treble in the last minute when he headed in a cross from Tommy Conway.

Adams told BBC Scotland: “I’m happy to get on the scoresheet and help the team.

“It’s nice to score for Scotland, it’s not happened much since I’ve been here.

“We knew it’d be difficult, the conditions weren’t great, but we were very professional and our mentality was spot on.

“It was important to sign off this year with the win. We’re happy we put things right from the Iceland game.”
